We are considering the safety of all our guests, staff, and visitors with a health response to help us best look after the wellbeing of all who stay with us.
We will have a “No Vaccination No Stay” policy in place for this coming 2021 – 2022 Summer season. This policy will be reviewed later.
We are committed to collaborating with you to make any adjustments to your reservations, in line with our policy and requirements regarding the NZ Government Covid Protection Framework. If you cannot find the information you are looking for below, please email us for assistance [email protected]
Our standard Terms and Conditions as outlined on booking correspondence will apply, except for the following changes
Vaccination Certificate Requirements
FULL COVID-19 VACCINATION CERTIFICATE REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL GUESTS FROM December 3rd 2021 TILL WE REVIEW
As per NZ Government Covid Protection Framework, Opotiki Holiday Park will operate a “No Vax + No Vaccination Certificate = No Stay” policy for all guests, visitors, staff, and contractors aged 12 years and over.
This policy will apply to the peak season due to the volume of customers in the park and until the review date finalised.
The reservation holder is responsible to ensure the entire group in the booking is fully vaccinated. The reservation holder must provide the required proof of NZ Government digital Vaccination Certificate for all guests in their group prior to their stay. This is non-Negotiable
Children under the age of 12 years old at the time of their visit will not be required to show proof of vaccination. If a guest, visitor, staff member or contractor aged 12 years and over is unable to get a vaccination for medical reasons they will be required to show proof of their government approved exemption. Exemption once granted can be held on hold on the vaccine pass app. Doctors letters will not be accepted.
In addition to the health and safety risks we respectfully ask all people intending to come to the park to understand that non-compliance of NZ Government Covid Regulations may result in our business incurring extensive fines. Your honesty and co-operation will ensure that we can make the most of summer.
Proof of NZ Government Digital Vaccination Certificate
From 17 November 2021 the government will be providing eligible New Zealanders with a NZ Government Digital Vaccination Certificate as proof of full vaccination. The Reservation Holder will be required to show this certificate for all eligible guests in their in their booking party. We expect the following approach to be adopted:
- proof of full vaccination for all guests 12 years+ must be sent by the 3 December 2021. This can also include proof from “my covid record” app.
- During the period of the stay a guest might be requested by a member of Opotiki Holiday Park team to scan their certificate.
- We therefore request that the Reservation Holder advises all members of their party to be fully cooperative with us within this process.
Please be assured that any information provided will remain private and secure.

We acknowledge that not everyone wishes to be vaccinated against Covid-19.

Cancellations will only be accepted via email to [email protected]. If you have booked through a Third-Party OTA, you will need to cancel though them.
COVID – 19 Cancellation Policy due to travel restrictions
For existing Peak Season and Non-Peak Season bookings that cannot proceed due to NZ Government imposed Covid-19 domestic travel restrictions we will be happy to credit the full amount to your account, rebook you on another suitable date or alternatively we can provide a refund. We kindly ask that you give us as much notice as possible of any cancellations.
- This supersedes the standard cancellation policy on the website and is applicable right up to the arrival date.
- This policy only comes into force when the NZ Government notifies of a travel restriction that affects your travel dates.
- If you change dates the rates for the “new” period apply so there may be a deficit or a credit. We can advise of any differences in price before you make any changes.
- This does not cover an event cancellation or an unfavourable weather forecast!
Please see the list of safety measures we will have in place. We ask that you kindly comply with these guidelines. Masks will be available at reception.
